Membership in the Daughters of the
American Revolution honors and preserves the legacy of your
patriot ancestor. Over two hundred years ago, American
patriots fought and sacrificed for the freedoms we enjoy
today. As a member of DAR, through participation in the
Society's various programs and activities, you can continue
this legacy by actively supporting historic preservation,
education, and patriotic endeavor.
We welcome your interest in the Tennessee
Society Daughters of the American Revolution. If you are interested in

Let me tell you why I am a Daughter......
What happened at that first meeting, which
compelled me to join this group, was that
every one of us there stood together, hands
over our hearts, saying the Pledge of
Allegiance to the Flag and singing the
Star-Spangled Banner. I had goose-bumps -
and tears in my eyes.
How long had it been since I had
participated in a ceremony so unabashedly
patriotic?
Had I ever before been part of a group so
enthusiastic about proclaiming their love of
God, Home, and Country?
This group of women, committed to promoting
the preservation of our national treasures
and to educating our children about our
precious heritage, was something I wanted to
be a part of. I, too, would become a member
of DAR, following in the footsteps of my
sister and all those other good women who
had been leading the way
