In 1925 Blount Mansion, the birthplace of the State of Tennessee and the home of Governor William Blount, of the territory south of the Ohio, was about to be razed for business purposes. This brought prompt action by Bonny Kate Chapter and Miss Mary Boyce Temple, who was Regent at the time, made plans to save the Mansion.  Miss Temple gave a personal check of $100.00 to hold the option.  This check was framed and now hangs in the Mansion.  It was by far the greatest historical undertaking of the Chapter, the safety of the Mansion was assured when it was pronounced the "Most historic spot in Tennessee".

2010 State Conference TSDAR recognized Ted "Gunner" Ousley, WIVK - FM 107.7 Radio Personality, for his devotion to and support of our military and country. His dedication earned him the 2009  - TSDAR Media Award for reporting from overseas and giving Tennessee Soldiers a means to communicate through WIVK to their families back home from the war zone in Iraq on his weekly radio program titled: "Voices from the Front".
