Chapter History
On
September 20, 2003, the Organizing Members of the Colonel Joseph Hardin Chapter, NSDAR, held
the Organizational Meeting and Installation of Officers.
The meeting was held at the Ross House in Savannah, Tennessee. The
chapter officers and members were sworn in by
Tennessee Second Vice Regent Elizabeth Stoddard.
The Ross
House is the former home of Mrs. Nellie Ross, deceased, a member of the original Colonel
Joseph Hardin Chapter, NSDAR. Miss Nellie collected DAR plates
throughout her membership and the members of the new chapter were delighted to be able to
use them at the brunch.
The original Colonel Joseph Hardin Chapter, NSDAR, in Savannah, Tennessee, existed from 1931-1996. The organizing members of the new chapter felt it appropriate to name the newly formed chapter after the original Colonel Joseph Hardin Chapter.
The Colonel
Joseph Hardin Chapter, NSDAR, was admitted at the NSDAR October 4, 2003, board meeting in
Washington, DC.
