What We Do

bullet

Honor outstanding high school seniors annually with the presentation of a DAR Good Citizenship Award.

bullet

Honor outstanding high school and college ROTC cadets annually with the presentation of the ROTC gold and bronze medals.

bullet

Honor outstanding individuals for their contributions to conservation with the Conservation Medal.

bullet

Assist veterans in Veterans Hospitals.

bullet

Conduct a chapter American History Essay Contest annually to select a state competitor for the national contest.

bullet

Place DAR markers at the grave sites of Revolutionary War Patriots and DAR Members.

bullet

Commemorate Revolutionary War Patriots with appropriate ceremonies.

bullet

Participate in swearing-in ceremonies for new citizens.

bullet

Observe patriotic anniversaries.

bullet

Promote American Heritage through programs on: art, crafts, literature, and music; volunteer work at historic homes, sites, and museums; work on historic preservation.

bullet
