- As a member of the National Veterans Administration Voluntary Service Advisory Committee, DAR has representatives in VA Medical Centers.
- Distribute flags, flag codes and other patriotic materials.
- Present Good Citizenship Awards and ROTC medals.
- Provide support to America’s service personnel in current conflicts abroad.
- Sponsor contests, awards and scholarships for students.
- Assist American Indians with financial and scholarship aid.
- Provide patriotic and leadership training for today’s youth.
- Support its own schools in six different states.
- Preserve American cultural traditions, crafts and music.
- Maintain genealogical records.
- Oversee historic preservation awards.
- Help prospective members with lineage research.
- Maintain the DAR historic buildings and the DAR library.
