REV. ROBERT BARRETBiographical InformationThe Rev. Robert Barret was probably the second son of Charles Barret and Mary Chiswell Barret as he was mentioned second in his mother's will. According to The Colonial Churches of Virginia by Goodwin, Robert Barret received the bounty granted by the King for ministers to Virginia on 5 Dec 1737. He is listed as the son of Charles Barret and Master of the Indian School, William & Mary college 1737. He was minister of St. Martin's Parish, Hanover and Louisa Counties, 1754 to 1787, and perhaps a few years earlier and later. He also preached occasionally in Fredericksville Parish, Albemarle Co. VA. It is also stated that he was loyal to the American cause in the Revolution. "Families of Virginia", Vol. III - Barret; G. W.
