Wimberley Administration Kick-Off Weekend – Cecile Wimberley

Last weekend the Wimberley Administration officially kicked off with 3 special meetings in Middle Tennessee.  On Friday, I had the pleasure of calling your TSDAR 2019-2022 Board of Directors to order for the first time.  This amazing group of women met for 6 hours to plan for the next three years for our Season of Service to God, Home and Country.  Not only did we approve the theme and verse for this administration, they also approved several exciting new service projects and some fun items for the State Regent’s Project sales as well.  All this and more from that meeting will be shared during our fall workshops that are planned for August 16, 17, and 24, 2019.  If you haven’t already registered, please do so here as registration closes July 26, 2019.

On Saturday, we held the chairman’s luncheon at Old Natchez Country Club, where 164 of your state leaders attended for a working luncheon.  Information on upcoming projects, reporting, website changes, and most importantly committee awards for chapters and individuals was discussed.  I am excited to report you have wonderful women serving as your state chairs and vice chairs and they have so much planned for your chapters.  SIP packets with details on each state committee will be available during workshops and on the website when ready for publication.

It wasn’t all work however. With Judy Chaffin as MC, we took time to honor our newest Honorary State Regent and Vice President General Charlotte Reynolds. It was a pleasure to be able to present her with the Honorary State Regent Pin, which was a gift from the state society made specifically for her, and to watch Susan Thomas sash her and Nancy Hemmrich present her Vice President General’s Pin. Charlotte follows Susan and Nancy as being first chair (highest vote count) for her 2022 class of 7 Vice President Generals. Tennessee has an amazing set of honoraries to help guide our state society.

Finally as the weekend drew to a close, the state conference committee met to begin planning for state conference.  I would encourage you to mark April 23- 26, 2020 on your calendars to save the date.  We have a great line up of guests already confirmed, and plans are in the works for workshop speakers that will make you not want to miss this annual event.  I left the weekend energized with the excitement and energy from your TSDAR Leadership and made it home in time Sunday to have a date night with my oldest (dinner and a movie), as his dad and brother were at Webelos Scout Camp.

In Service,
Cecile
