Three hundred scarves – in my foyer. Via special delivery from our designer, our first order of dogwood scarves arrived, and I am thrilled! Featuring our dogwoods and full theme verse from Eccl. 3:1-8, these scarves feature Nina Akin’s newest fabric. You may remember that Nina was the designer for the beautiful Reynolds scarf that featured chapter names and a tri-star wreath design. A DAR member herself, Nina has designed scarves for many other state societies as well. Both scarves will be for sale during our fall workshops this August.
If you haven’t already registered for our fall workshops, today, July 26, is the last day to register before the late fee is added. You can register here. We will be kicking off the committee work at these three workshops, and you will not want to miss the exciting new projects that we have planned and a special new event. The Junior Membership committee will be hosting an evening event the night before each workshop. These “come and go” wine and cheese receptions will be held from 6:30- 8:30pm at the hotel. Tickets are $10 in advance through August 2 or $15 at the door. All proceeds benefit the Helen Pouch Memorial Fund which benefits our schools and classroom grant projects selected by the National Junior Membership Committee. For more information or to RSVP please email our Junior Membership Chair, Jennifer Thomas at jennifer.thomas1187@gmail.com. I would encourage you to make plans to stop by this new social event that will be sure to quickly become a daughter favorite.
