Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Like so many of you I started 2020 with grand plans. I had chapter meetings scheduled, out of state travel planned for DAR and projects galore. But by March it was clear that we all might be facing a different year than we had hoped. As I look back on the past year I am so pleased with the work all of you have accomplished in the face of adversity. We all learned new technology and found new ways to stay connected and to continue to make a difference in our communities.

With all the missed opportunities came times for reflection, on blessings and family. For years I have had DAR travel on my wedding anniversary, husband’s birthday and usually one if not both boy’s birthdays, and 2020/2021 was shaping up to be the same. However with covid I was grounded and was able to be around for lots of those events I would have missed. While there were lots of events missed by all, there were so many things gained that will make 2020 a time of blessing. I hope as you celebrate Christmas it will be a time of happy reflection for the sliver linings that have come from this pandemic. And as we prepare to celebrate a brand new year, I hope that 2021 brings joy and happiness to each of our Tennessee daughters and their families.
