Today marks the official start to our 130th Continental Congress. I hope you will join me in learning more about the important work of our National and State Societies this week as expressed by the Congress Chair Connie Olde in her recent blog post. This year we have a fantastic virtual hub that will allow you to register for events and create a schedule so that all you need is one stop to find all your favorite Congress events. If you have not already registered for this hub, please visit it here for information on how to sign up.
Today delegates will need to cast their opening ballot to get ready for the votes that will take place on Saturday. Delegates should have received information on this process earlier this month with directions on how to cast your ballot today from 9am – 5pm EDT. If you are registered as a voter I hope you will make time today for that important vote.
Today we have the Registrar General’s Forum, and Membership Committee Forum along with Patriotism Luncheon, DAR Leadership Training Graduations and the Opening Night Ceremony. Truly this year Congress has something for everyone. Tonight, will be one you will not want to miss, and I hope you have made plans to attend a watch party either in person or online with your chapter and friends. While it isn’t the Congress we are used to, this Congress has utilized new technology and a new platform to make it easier than ever. Let’s get ready to Rise and Shine for Congress Online!
In Service, Cecile
