Workshops – You don’t want to miss!

Our deadline for our fall workshop series is approaching. Due to delay’s with the delivery to homes of our print version of our summer newsletter, the state board has removed the late fee for 2021 Workshop registrations. If you haven’t registered yet, I would encourage you to do so as we have fabulous offerings this year at our two workshop locations, and you can do so here. Session details are below.

2021 August Workshop Sessions Information – Space may be limited in some sessions.

Rockin’ Regents: the Nitty Gritty – Session 1:  Join us in getting down to business on how to revitalize your chapter, gain success tips, being organized, and how to have FUN!  You can ROCK this job! Vice Regents and prospective regents are welcome.

RegistrarsSession 1This session is designed to aid new and returning Chapter Registrars.  All chapters are encouraged to send their Registrar and other interested chapter representatives.

Chapter Secretaries – Session 1:  Do you love to keep records, take notes, and research?  Then the office of chapter secretary is for you!  Chapter Secretaries are vital to the success of our chapters.  Chapter secretaries and other interested members are encouraged to attend

Chaplains, Historians, and Librarians; Oh MY! – Session 1:  Have you been elected to one of these offices and wonder where to start.  This workshop will point you in the right direction.  All other interested members are encouraged to attend.

Treasures of the Tennessee Room – Session 1Join us as we explore the interesting history of the Tennessee Room and its storied contents in the NSDAR Museum.  You might also hear about a few items that didn’t make the cut.  Information on becoming an NSDAR Museum Correspondent Docent will also be shared. 

DAR Magazine – Session 2:  Learn about DAR’s award winning publications:  American Spirit and the Daughters Newsletter, and how they can help your chapter with recruitment, publicity, and community involvement.

Treasurers Session 2:  Information will be provided for all new and returning Treasurers. All chapters are encouraged to send either their Treasurer or a representative to take notes.

“Get on the Bus, Gus” – Session 2:   Have you always wanted to attend Continental Congress, but travel arrangements were just too difficult, or you had no one to travel with?   “Make a new plan, Stan.”   Come hear about the 2022 TSDAR Bus Trip and get your Continental Congress questions answered from some Congress pros.

New Members Workshop – Session 2: Especially for new or prospective members, or chapters that would like to learn to conduct their own new members workshop.

DAR Is in Your DNA – Session 2 & 3:  Have you wondered exactly what the NSDAR DNA Project is and how it might be able to help you break through those genealogical “brick walls”?  Learn about how to join, types of DNA accepted, project testing discounts, and DNA analysis support.

America 250! – Session 3:  We have an amazing opportunity to build awareness of DAR and engage our communities in historic education, preservation, and patriotism.  Come and learn innovative ways that your chapter can participate in the America 250! and Our Patriots Committees directly from the National Vice Chairman of the Our Patriots Committee.

Organizing a New Chapter – Session 3:  Have you ever thought about organizing a new chapter?  NSDAR encourages the organization of new chapters in growing population centers, as well as in areas without a chapter in a 25-mile radius.  This session will focus on the viability, mechanics, and timeline of organizing a new chapter.

Promote Your Chapter; Great Ideas that Work – Session 3:  Does your chapter suffer from lack of community awareness or member participation?  This session will share some great ideas that will have your chapter Rising and Shining in your community!
