Good morning – I hope this finds you doing well as we prepare to kick off our fall workshops in Middle TN today. I write this morning to let you know about a change in our fall workshop schedule that will impact our East TN series set for August 14. Upon reviewing the increasing COVID numbers in East Tennessee your state board made the difficult decision to cancel the Aug. 14 fall workshop.
Upon review of the location we had reserved, it was determined that the classroom and building layout along with the registration numbers when reviewed with the projected seven-day patterns of viral spread for the region would not allow us to provide the safety measures recommended by the CDC for us to feel that we were providing a safe and healthy environment for our members. The workshops scheduled for today will still continue as planned as we are able to implement social distancing and other measures not accessible at the East Tennessee location.
For those members that registered for East Tennessee, we will be reaching out to you in the next few days to let you know our plans for reimbursement. If you reserved a room at the Hampton Inn Knoxville Airport, you will need to call and cancel your reservation as they will not do that for our block. We are also determining the feasibility of providing virtual workshops options for the registered attendees for this location. For chapter regent packets including awards, directories, etc., and members that purchased junior products we are working on a distribution plan to make sure you receive your items.
While this is not what we wished, we are committed to protecting our members.
