Today’s Dogwood Note comes from the Tennessee Congress Event Chair and State 1st Vice Regent Emily Robinson. Emily has been hard at work creating a very special Congress event for the Tennessee Daughters, and I am so happy for her to share those plans with you as registration opens today for those not participating on bus tour. Continental Congress is a special time to experience DAR at its most spectacular. After two years of virtual meetings, Daughters across the country are excited about attending the annual meeting in Washington, D.C. at our beautiful and historic headquarters buildings. This year the dates are June 29 – July 3, 2022.
Each year our Tennessee Society plans a special event at Continental Congress which gives the Tennessee members time to celebrate together before we begin the busy week. This year we are thrilled that we will be able to dine at The Army and Navy Club on Tuesday, June 28, at 7:30 p.m. The Club’s timeless elegance will contribute to the camaraderie and joy that we will have in being together.
Registration for this special event opens today for Tennessee members here. Tickets are $105, and after registration you will mail a check to State Treasurer Sandra Long, whose address is on the online registration form. Your meal price includes the choice of two entrées and wine service. Tickets are limited due to space, and they will go very quickly, so please register as soon as possible. There will be a waiting list if registration becomes full. Only members can register initially, but non-members can be placed on the waiting list. There are no refunds, but if necessary, I will help you get in contact with the next person in line on the waiting list.
Come celebrate with us! I look forward to seeing everyone who can join us at our Tennessee Congress Event.
In Service, Emily
