Tennessee members are putting their volunteer hearts in action this month! It has been so exciting to read about your wonderful DAR Day of Service projects on our Members’ Only website. Our members and chapters truly sparkle! Thank you for all of your hard work.
It was an honor to represent you at the National Board of Management Sparkle in Service week. Here are some important updates we learned about:
Good Citizens Committee
– There will now be ONE winner chosen at the state, division and national levels.
– Monetary Awards: One winner each Tennessee district: $250; One Tennessee State winner: $500; One winner Division level: $1,000; One winner national level: $10,000.
Please let your schools know the exceptional monetary awards available to the winners and encourage participation!
Continental Congress Hotel Reservations
Continental Congress week is June 25 – July 2, 2023. Room blocks at the JW Marriott, official hotel for Continental Congress, open for reservations on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at 12 p.m. Eastern Time. Information can be found in the Congress Announcements on the home page of dar.org/members.
The Daughters Online Community
From the President General’s blog: This online community will provide a secure, NSDAR-only platform where Daughters may share their chapters’ stories of service and friendship, ask questions, spark new ideas, and connect with other Daughters around the world—all from their computer, tablet or smartphone. More information and webinars will be coming in the near future, so please stay tuned!
