With great pleasure and pride, I reveal to you the David Wright painting, Patriot’s Farewell.

This amazing work of art, commissioned specifically for the TSDAR by renowned artist David Wright, illustrates the heartfelt moment a man departs to go fight in the American Revolutionary War. He reluctantly leaves his wife and children, not knowing if he will return or if his family will survive. At first glance, only one patriot is apparent but upon closer inspection the story unfolds with many patriots who embraced the fight. Throughout the war, men, women, and children courageously sacrificed for both their freedom then and ultimately for our freedoms today.
In addition to this painting gracing the cover of our wonderful Tennessee Patriot Book, Mr. Wright is providing 200 limited-edition, signed, and numbered, reproductions of Patriot’s Farewell available for Daughters and chapters to purchase through the TSDAR!
This work of “heart” is a stretched canvas giclee’, 20” x 16” that is ready to frame. The price is $300 (the customary price for a Wright giclee’ of this size). Mr. Wright is allowing the TSDAR to retain $150 of each purchase. What a wonderful opportunity to buy a David Wright work of art and support the TSDAR State Projects!
The reproduced painting is on sale from now through May 8th. If purchased by April 16th at 7:00 pm central time, it will be available for pickup at State Conference. Purchases made after the April 16th will be hand-delivered as soon as practical. The easiest way to purchase the giclee is online. Click Here to be directed to the TSDAR Store. You may also make a purchase by contacting order coordinator Sandra Long at sandradeelong@bellsouth.net.
