TSDAR Constitution Week Bell Ringing

Today’s blog was authored by Lisa Kenney, State Chair of the Constitution Week Bell Ringing, who provides insights and updates on this significant event. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Lisa and her Vice Chair, Carolyn Smith, for their dedicated efforts in organizing what promises to be a memorable occasion, celebrating and honoring our nation’s foundational document.

DAR is Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of Constitution Week on September 21st ,
2025 at 2:00 pm. Without the Constitution, we would not be celebrating 250
years of these United States in 2026!
The TSDAR Bell Ringing will once again be held on the beautiful Tennessee State Capitol Grounds near the replica Liberty Bell in the East Plaza. Parking will be free for attendees on the
Capitol upper level. Enter from Dr. Martin L. King, Jr. Blvd. at 7th Ave N.
Drive though the guard checkpoint to parking. The Liberty Bell area can be
reached by either stairs or a new sloped ramp, which will make it easier for those
with mobility needs. There will also be Boy Scouts to assist with ushering.
Seating is limited. If you are able, please bring a folding “camp” chair and maybe
an extra for another member.
On the agenda we have speaker Linda Moss Mines, Honorary Regent, Chief John
Ross Chapter. Her topic is A MORE PERFECT UNION: While our country’s
history includes moments when the Union was threatened, the Founders created
a system of government – a republic – designed to withstand the winds of change
and the fires of divisive conflict. What experiences and philosophical ideas
inspired the United States Constitution? How did thirteen distinctly different
states willingly unite to become ‘We the People’? It’s a story worthy of a country
approaching its 250th birthday! If you have ever been blessed to hear Linda
speak, you know you will not want to miss it!
Also on the agenda is singer/songwriter, Stacy Ries Snyder from Ft. Nashborough
Chapter. She has a patriotic line up of songs to entertain and inspire us as we
celebrate Constitution Week and America250! together.
The program will conclude with ringing of the Liberty Bell and photo ops! Bring a
friend, children or grandchildren.
We will begin the program at 2:00 pm, but come a little early if you would like to
visit with friends. It should last approximately an hour.
