Looking Forward to State Conference!

As we move to the end of 2022, my wish is that each of you will experience the blessings of the season and have a happy new year. I am thankful that you have decided to be a part of our organization; you are a blessing to me and all those you touch through the DAR.

Today, the guest blog is written by State Conference Chair Carla Riley. Although you are busy with many things, I know the information below will help you plan for our 2023 State Conference in April.
Happy Holidays! Emily

While sugarplums may be dancing in your head in anticipation of the upcoming holidays, there is some important planning you should address well in advance of our 2023 TSDAR State Conference next April.

First, please encourage your Junior members to submit their application to serve as a Page at State Conference by the January 31st deadline.  Second, in compliance with our TSDAR bylaws, you must elect your Chapter Delegates and Alternates by February 18th.  With only a meeting or two available on the calendar and the potential for winter weather impacts, this window is quickly closing. Once you have confirmed your election, why not go ahead and complete your Credentials form and drop it in the mail – either via electronic or snail mail to beat the March 10th deadline.  There is a ton of useful information on the Credential Committee web page to help answer any questions and provide additional details.

Next, with the TSDAR Chorus limited to the first 25 reservations, you don’t want to wait till the last minute and miss your opportunity!  Applications may be completed on-line or sent by mail per the instructions on the State Conference websiteAd space is currently available for the State Conference program, but you must place your order by the March 1st deadline.  You don’t want to miss the opportunity to honor, recognize or celebrate those special Daughters or projects highlighting your Volunteer Hearts in Action.  Our ad space always sells out quickly, so don’t delay, order today!  Finally, make sure your chapter will be represented in our Opening Night Banner Procession.  Check out the requirements on the Banner Liaison SIP page and ensure your banner and equipment are up to standards for inclusion.

Now, let’s talk details for the Conference!  Plans are well underway and we have a jam-packed schedule of events and fun in store for you!  We are very excited to announce arrival of the TSDAR Boutique, formerly known as the White Elephant Sale.  Now is a great time to start cleaning out those closets and drawers.  Wondering what items would be good to bring or if there are things you shouldn’t?  Review the flyer and start your donation box!

We will be introducing new events as well as bringing back and re-imagining others.   There will be shopping, club meetings and workshops to satisfy every interest.  Luncheons, dinners and photo opportunities will be around every corner.  You will celebrate accomplishments, participate in the Society’s annual business sessions and exercise your right to vote on important topics.  Whether you are a first-time attendee or Conference veteran, you won’t want to miss this!  Bookmark our State Conference website and check it often as we will be releasing details in advance of the mailed February newsletter.

I look forward to seeing you April 20 – 23 at the Franklin Cool Springs Marriott!

With warmest holiday wishes!
