“To the Heroes of 1776” Monument Rededication

Dear Tennessee Daughters, You are invited to join our members as we rededicate the “To the Heroes of 1776” monument . Please read the details below from TSDAR America 250! Chair Marjorie Green. I hope that you will join us at this event! Love, Emily

Join us for the rededication of the “To the Heroes of 1776” monument and the adjoining markers honoring General William Lee Davidson and General Francis Nash. The ceremony will take place on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 1:30 pm CST, in Nashville. This historic monument, placed by TSDAR in 1910, stands outside the Davidson County Courthouse at the corner of 3rd Avenue and James Robertson Parkway. It commemorates approximately 400 Revolutionary War Patriots buried in Tennessee, with their names inscribed on the back.  Old Glory Chapter founder Susie Gentry gathered and documented these names – a remarkable feat considering the time period.

Cleaning, restoring and rededicating this monument is a Robinson Administration America 250! project, so please be a part of this historic event. A limited number of seats are available on a chartered bus for Conference attendees, and the bus will load at 12:30 pm CST at the Cool Springs Marriott. To reserve a spot on the bus, please email Marjorie Green at mmgreenms@aol.com. If you meet us at the monument, public parking is available beneath the courthouse. Please note that seating at the event will not be provided due to space constraints.

We hope to see you there!
Marjorie Green
