Dear Tennessee Daughters, We have a lot to look forward to at state conference, including the election of the 2025-2028 state officers. To help you get acquainted with our officer candidates, State First Vice Regent Carol Teeters and the Teeters Associates have provided information on each candidate, which you can view on our website at https://www.tndar.org/members/wp1/2025-2028-officer-candidates/
Also, there is a lot of important information below from State Conference Chair Carla Riley, including information on a collection for the Fisher House and the TSDAR Boutique. I can’t wait to see you there!
Love, Emily
Now that you are all registered for Conference, your mind is probably drifting to the next key decisions – what do I need to bring. Your must-have list includes the following:
- Photo ID. Why do I need this you say? Everyone, all the way to the top, must present identification when they pick up their packet at the registration table. Even if your best friend since kindergarten is working the table, she is obligated to view your ID – know that she thanks you for your patience and understanding. Safety is always our key focus!

- White Gloves. Protocol requires that everyone wears white gloves if you pass through the receiving line at the Member Reception to meet and great our guests and officers. Our Junior Shoppe will have a limited number for sale, so shop early!
- Sweater or Wrap. The temperature in the venue is universally set to keep rooms comfortable for our large crowds and activity. Layers are best to find the best comfort zone for your own internal thermostat.
- Comfortable Shoes. You will definitely get your steps in over the weekend, so make sure you have comfortable shoes. The Conference Center, while connected to the hotel, is on the opposite side of the building from your hotel room. We recommend bringing a couple of pairs, just in case your go-to choice betrays you. Trust me, I have been there!
- Extra Patience, Good Manners, and Sweet Smiles. We are expecting a large crowd, hosting out of town company including our President General and other State Regents, and have a full schedule. Take time to plan out your schedule to allow plenty of time to get to your destinations.

- Insignia. Bring your insignia ribbon if you wear one. The Insignia Pop-Up Shop with be on-site. What a great time to fill those bare spots on your ribbon or start your insignia collection.
- Boutique Donations. The TSDAR Boutique is returning this year and needs your donations. Please review their donation guidelines posted in the Tennessee DAR Members Facebook Group on April 5 by Billie Cobb. Be ready to shop!
- What to Wear and More. Visit our website page Countdown to State Conference, along with the rest of the site, to explore more information to help you with your planning and packing.
Finally, one of the most often asked questions is whether we are doing a collection. Yes we are! Please bring gift cards from any restaurant chain, Publix, Kroger, WalMart, and Target. These will be provided at our Fisher Houses in Murfreesboro and Memphis to support meals for veteran’s families while their loved one is receiving care at the local VA hospital. Drop your donations off at the Fisher House Foundation table in our DAR Vendor Sales Room on Friday and Saturday.
We have a wonderful weekend planned for you and are anxiously awaiting your arrival at the Franklin Cool Springs Marriott April 24-27. Above all, we invite you to bring the fun, the laughter, and your wonderful DAR spirit – building memories together. Look for your State Conference Committee members to answer any questions or provide helpful guidance. We will be wearing a double heart pin and pink ribbons on our name tags.
With a Warm and Grateful Volunteer Heart,
Carla Riley
