Come and Join Us in Service

Why DAR?
Membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution honors and preserves the legacy of your Patriot ancestors. More than 230 years ago, American Patriots fought and sacrificed for the freedom we enjoy today. As a member, you can support the DAR legacy and its mission of historic preservation, education, and patriotism by participating in the Society’s various programs and activities.
Who are our members?
NSDAR members are diverse in age, education, religious affiliation, and life experiences, but all share a common bond of having an ancestor who helped contribute to securing the independence of the United States of America.
Eighteen to 35-year old members are considered Junior members. Often they are working women, some with young families, who bring vibrant energy to their chapter.
Martha Dandridge Washington Chapter, NSDAR, members come together enthusiastically to share and respectfully pursue our like-minded goals for preserving and promoting the history of this great nation through service to DAR. Committee work and community involvement are ways to serve to further the mission of DAR.
Who is eligible?
Any woman 18 years old or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove biological lineal descent from a Patriot of the American Revolutionary War is eligible to join.
