The chapter&#8217;s first\u00a0meeting was held October 16, 1931,\u00a0in Sweetwater, Tennessee. Members chose the name <strong>Rhea-Craig<\/strong>\u00a0 to reward Mrs. Clark for her efforts to organize the chapter. His family sailed to the American colonies aboard the &#8220;George.&#8221; \u00a0During the American Revolutionary War, Reverend Joseph Rhea served under Colonel William Christian\u00a0in\u00a0the military expedition to Tennessee and Virginia.<b>\u00a0<\/b>Reverend\u00a0Joseph Rhea and his associate, Reverend Charles Cummings,<b>\u00a0<\/b>were the first ministers to preach in the territory that is now Tennessee.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"thumbnail wp-caption alignright\" style=\"width: 250px\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/mediasvc.ancestry.com\/v2\/image\/namespaces\/1093\/media\/163cf22f-e5f1-4677-897c-c5b2f4b74984.jpg?client=Trees&amp;imageQuality=hq&amp;maxWidth=1349&amp;maxHeight=667\" alt=\"Capt Joseph Rhea Headstone\" width=\"250\" height=\"287\" \/><figcaption class=\"caption wp-caption-text\"><em>Grave Marker for Reverend Joseph Rhea, Piney Creek Cemetery, Carroll County, Maryland<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Captain Robert Craig<\/strong>\u00a0was born in 1744 on the ship\u00a0his family was sailing from Ireland to Lancaster, Pennsylvania. During the Revolutionary War Captain Craig\u00a0served under\u00a0Colonel\u00a0Galbraith and\u00a0Colonel Lowry in the 3<sup>rd<\/sup> Battery, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Many women also served and are recognized as patriots. They participated in battle, provided food, gave\u00a0nursing care and shelter to the struggling colonists. In addition, they furnished horses and wagons as well as guns to aid in the battle for freedom.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">We have the experience to help you find and verify your patriot; you don&#8217;t need to be a computer expert.
