Members of the Jackson-Madison Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR), are dedicated to historic preservation, education, and patriotism.
FIELD OF FLAGS
As a means of fulfilling the mission of historic preservation, education, and patriotism, the Jackson-Madison Chapter, NSDAR, sponsors an annual display of the Field of Flags, honoring the men and women who served our country during the American Revolutionary War.

NSDAR Women in American History AwardEmma Inman Williams (1906-1992)Emma Inman Williams joined Jackson-Madison Chapter, NSDAR, in 1935. She authored "Historic Madison: The Story of Jackson and Madison County, Tennessee," for the 1946 sesquicentennial celebration of Tennessee’s statehood. This collector’s item was re-published in 1972 and 1986. Miss Williams taught American history at Jackson High School 1929-1972; served as JHS yearbook advisor 1941, 1944, 1946-1971; and served as The Jackson Sun’s newspaper book page editor 1949-1973. She served as librarian in Jackson-Madison County Library's Tennessee Room 1973-1986, which was named in her honor at her retirement. She was co-author of “Jackson & Madison County: A Pictorial History in 1988.”
The Jackson-Madison Chapter was honored with the TSDAR State Regent as a special guest and speaker at our February meeting.
