James Trice, Sr. was born 1762. Married 2-21-1787 in Virginia to Mary “Polly” Smith. Served in Burnley’s Company, Taylor’s Virginia Regiment. Died 4-2-1840. Marked by DAR in 1931.
The grave is located in the Trice Farm Cemetery, off of Caldwell Road, near Rockford, Tennessee, on what is now the University of Tennessee Agricultural Farm. This meadow, near the Little River, was once part of the Trice farm.
