Salute to the Flag of Tennessee

On June 1, 1796, Congress approved the admission of Tennessee as the sixteenth state of the Union. Tennessee's state flag was adopted in 1905. Attached is a copy of the law, Public Acts, 2006, Chapter No. 841, Senate Bill No 841, signed by Governor Phil Bredesen on June 2, 2006, which states "Lucy Steele Harrison, State Regent of The Tennessee Society, Daughters of the American Revolution from 1980-1983, composed a stirring salute to the Tennessee flag, which was subsequently designated 'the official salute to the flag of Tennessee' by Senate Joint Resolution No. 63 of the 92nd General Assembly adopted on March 5, 1981."
