Our Patriots

The Shelby Chapter, NSDAR, proudly honors our American Revolutionary War Patriots.

“Patriots” were those who resided in the Thirteen Colonies and rejected British rule. They were known as Continentals, rebels, and revolutionaries. Their opposition, the Loyalists, were in support of continued British law. In July 1776, the United States of America was declared an independent nation.

Our Patriots were from every social, economic, and ethnic background. Merchants, planters, lawyers, farmers, students, slaves, and freedmen were among those who fought for independence.

Below you will find a list of our honored Patriots and their service details.
