Marker located at Centenary Cemetery, 11 miles southwest of Maryville, Tennessee, on Centenary Road, off Highway 129. The church was formerly Methodist and is now a Baptist church.
James Taylor was born 1-30-1760, in Culpepper County, Virginia. Died after 3-19-1841, Blount County, Tennessee. Married Susannah Cook. The marker was placed in 1950 by the Sam Houston Chapter of Maryville, which has since merged with the Mary Blount Chapter.
